All fair minded citizens expect a level playing field, but while the police focus their attention on BAR20, according to the ABC, there have been many incidents of alcohol abuse and violence at Crown Casino which have been covered up.
Channel 7's "Today Tonight" also interviewed a former Crown Casino bouncer last night alleging cover ups about the alcohol abuse & violence.
According to a study by Deakin University Associate Professor Linda Hancock - How Responsible Is Crown Casino? - 20 per cent of staff said they felt unsafe at work at all times and nearly three-quarters said customers who had been evicted from the venue could be a hazard to people outside.
Prof Hancock said the casino was in constant violation of its own Code of Conduct, as well as state regulations.
Mark Zirnsak, from the Interchurch Gambling Taskforce, said: "Whenever measures come up to deal with community benefits, safety against problem gambling, and in this case community safety in relation to alcohol related violence ... somehow Crown always manages to get a good deal," he said.
"... A Crown Casino spokesman, Gary O'Neil, says Crown has not lobbied for the exemption. He said it was a decision made by the State Government...."
So getting back to the police persecution, sorry, prosecution, of BAR20/PPN, where is the level playing field?
