EMT Executive Chairman Mr. Peter Dykes today said “our company is delighted to be associated with such a prestigious hotel as the InterContinental Miami, and with a blue-chip organisation like IHG.” Mr. Dykes further added, “Having announced the first IHG contract independent of those acquired last year, our immediate priority in North America is providing continuity of service to IHG during the transition of contracts from Verizon Select Services. Every effort is being made to ensure IHG’s valued guests enjoy a consistently superior entertainment experience.” IHG Vice President Operations for North America, Lewis N. Fader, commented “IHG is delighted to work with EMT on the deployment of their digital video systems to our property base in North America. The leading edge technology of digital systems is being realized and provides advanced services to guests staying in our properties. We look forward to a continuing relationship with EMT with the end result being higher guest satisfaction with in-room entertainment.” EMT entered the North American market after signing contracts to supply Digital Video on Demand and High Speed Internet Access systems to the up-market Charles Hotel in Boston and luxury Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in California. On announcing those first contractual wins in the USA, Mr. Dykes signalled the intention of the EMT board was to drive the company aggressively into North America. Since then, EMT has secured a prime position as the 4th largest provider of digital-on-demand entertainment and connectivity systems for the hospitality sector across the USA and Canada. The Master Services Agreement for InterContinental properties as acquired from Verizon Select Services is expected to pave the way for EMT to negotiate additional contracts with IHG for supply of Digital Video on Demand Entertainment Services. In anticipation of continued growth in the U.S.A., a dedicated office for EMT has been established in Dallas, Texas with key executive personnel transitioned from the Sydney Head Office to further foster the relationship with IHG. “The inclusion of these much coveted properties in the EMT portfolio demonstrates an ability to deliver on our vision. We will continue to expand EMT, and we will secure a market-leading position as a global supplier and operator of digital-on-demand technologies,” said Mr. Dykes. “We have best fit technologies for the hospitality sector, we understand the application of broadband services in that market, and we have the right team, specialist technical skills base, the backing of a progressive financer for additional roll-outs and the intellectual property resources to achieve even more - at home and abroad.” emphasised Mr. Dykes.
