BHP also have operations in Mozambique. Do not discount BHP. Also Anglo American has deep ties in the African continent. They can also bring this project to fruition.

As usual, the issue is not the resource, it is the infrastructure required to get it to market. RIO, BHP, AA and XSTRATA all have the ability to do that. RIV probably could, but it does take deep pockets and a lot more cash than most companies expect.

There is a long way for this deal to play out yet.
