After taking my dividends home in a rather large wheelbarrow yesterday, it is time to think about PPN's performance for the first half of the 2010/11 financial year.
As the 2010 AGM was very late in the year and there has been no mention of any "black swan" events, income for the first half of 2010/11 should be reasonably predictable based on the results for the same period last year.
EXECUTIVE SALARIES LEGISLATION If passed, the proposed federal executive salaries legislation is expected to commence from 1 July 2011 so the next AGM should be interesting. Under the proposed legislation, directors would be accountable to shareholders for the level and composition of executive remuneration.
LIQUOR LICENCE HEARING @ VCAT We were told at the AGM that the BAR20 liquor licence hearing has been deferred until March 2011. It is hard to predict the outcome or the costs involved. If VCAT throws out the charges [we hope], the taxpayers could get stuck with a rather large costs bill.
