Member for Flynn, Ken O'Dowd, welcomed the MCCI delegation and expressed his strong wish that the project proceed as it would provide the region with a manufacturing industry that would employ up to 1,200 permanent employees once the plant is built.
Gladstone needs strong, sustainable industries like this that are actually producing something and creating jobs, Mr O'Dowd said.
