I would hope to see any COGS reduction go to reducing the price on the shelves because it really can help garner market share and induce natural pricing competition, which is such a determinig factor to many consumers.
I suppose it might be just too early to release any official numbers on sales, because certainly plenty of stock has been distributed, I am itching for the quarterly update. Pursuant to the NZ announcement, sales are above expectations...whatever that means to whatever expectations they had.
Also I could be clutching at straws (there are certainly a vast array of cognitive bias applicable to optimism regarding the sharemarket) but the Metcash talk seems to be advanced considering the mention of an actual figure of stores.
Patience required, lets see what happens.
