Leyshon Guards Its? A$46 Million War Chest Jealously, As It Slowly Establishes Itself As A Force In Chinese Coal
By Sally White
Paul Atherley has no problem deciding what he wants. Getting it is another matter. As chief executive of Leyshon Resources he may be sitting on A$46.5 million of cash and years of accumulated knowledge of the Chinese energy and metal end-user markets, but he and his team have still had to spend most of this year sifting through thousands of pages detailing possible deals all around the world. Now, though, it looks as though the spade work is beginning to pay off.
Not that the share price has recognised it, but Leyshon is making progress. Paul is in active discussions with a potential vendor of an interest in a large thermal coal project in the eastern province of Xinjiang. And, he already has a licence application in for exploration in the Gobi Altai region of South West Mongolia, and others on the way.
