Just rediscovered an article in the Herald Sun d.d. 07/07/10
'The industry source told Business Daily Mr Liebelt (CEO - Orica)wanted to use proceeds from selling Chemnet to buy Campbell Brothers, which is the country's largest provider of laboratory services to the Australian mining and oil industry.
A move by Orica may not be far away as Campbell Brothers pursues an aggressive acquisition strategy which some analysts believe is aimed at making it takeover-proof.
Adding another twist, Campbell Brother's market share is set to grow if it can acquire Perth-based minerals testing consultancy Ammtec.
If the Ammtec play is successful, Campbell Brothers may become too big - in the view of the competition regulator - to be acquired by Orica.'
Who knows? Only Campbells will know if Orica have been buying CPB shares!
Maybe Campbells are running scared and believe that only the acquisition of AMMTEC will save them from ORICA!
