re: Ann: Carrick Board Strengthened with Free...
Hi Richard Possum,
Further to your comments about Mr Laurence Freedman's holdings in Carrick, I found the following.
"Mr Freedman directly held 500,000 Carrick shares and indirectly held 19,919,772 shares at the time of his appointment. He directly held 100,000 Condor shares and indirectly held 6,632,088 shares at the time of his appointment."
If this is correct, it is a lot more than the "386,679 shares" at an "average for the whole lot" of $1.53 that you can account for Richard, so the average price of the total holding seems uncertain.
He also has a charitable foundation, the Freedman Foundation. I get hits on it for such things as travel bursaries for up-and-coming musicians and sea trips for disadvantaged school children. Nice.
By the way, I'm getting a case of the guilts for listing inappropriate management among possible reasons for Carrick's downtrend, in a recent post of mine. It's true that dumb or dastardly behaviour is always possible, even for the best thought-of people, and we should be vigilant against that if we want to stay solvent. But I'd like to stress that, as of now, I know no ill of Carrick people whatsoever. The limited amount that I've been able to discover about people like Mr. Laurence Freedman has been to their credit.
