If the SUGS is attractive to AGL, because AGL is supplying gas to BG/QGC, then one would think that the project should also be attractive to say Shell?
I think that what this "proposal" from AGL will do, is focus people's attention on this SUGS asset. MOS has supposedly been trying to interest 3rd parties in J/V to develop the project. But has had no success to date.
Interestingly, in the latest MOS ASX release they say: "The Mosaic Board has appointed UBS Investment Bank and lawyers Chang, Pistilli & Simmons to advise Mosaic on various strategic matters including in respect of the AGL Proposal."
So clearly MOS and UBS are looking at other options other than the AGL Proposal - eg selling off the SUGS ???
I still think a higher bid will eventuate. My betting is a higher price from AGL, with the blessing of the MOS Board.
cheers
