Hedge funds, short sellers driving down on limited data....any excuse. They will drive it up when it suits them as well. This sentiment may well remain until Sept prior to next upswing.
Unfortunately the Govts are becoming less able to intervene and hence large influential organisations are able to manipulate the market more effectively.
