I was pleased to meet with you at my office recently and thank you for your comprehensive document clearlysetting out the issues you raised concerning Algorithmic trading in the Australian Share Market.

As discussed at our meeting, this is a matter of real significance. I have therefore immediately taken it up with the Treasurer, Wayne Swan MP, on your behalf requesting that as a priority, it be referred to a Parliamentary Committee for investigation.

As soon as I hear from the Treasurer, I will write to you again.
