Fleetwood To Build East Kimberley Accommodation Village

Fleetwood Corporation Limited (FWD) has been selected as preferred tenderer by the Western Australian State Government to supply, install and operate an accommodation village for the Ord East Kimberley Expansion Project. The village will accommodate personnel involved in the construction of channels, roads and drainage infrastructure relating to the Ord Expansion.

Phase 1 includes supply and installation of 52 new accommodation rooms and anciliary buildings including a kitchen, laundries, wet mess, recreation room and gymnasium. Phase 2 consists of supply and installation of a further 100 accommodation rooms. It also includes potential future expansion to 318 rooms.

The Contract Value of Phase 1 has been approximately calculated at $7 million excluding the value of operating the village. The project shall commence immediately, with phase 1 to be ready for occupation in June 2010. Following establishment of the village, Fleetwood will operate the facility for a minimum period 18 of months.
