absolutely agree. first decent senior exec appointment in in quite a while. JP's experience is a cut above any currently sitting in that exec team and FGL would be wise to accelerate moving Johnston out and JP to the top gig.
Will be interesting to see how the Diageo / FGL relationship moves as he settles into the gig. One of the most constant market rumours over the years has been a Diageo / FGL merger or partnership to create an Asia Pac powerhouse. Could be the solution to take on Asahi/Kirin moves in this part of the world. Diageo could do a bit with the FGL wine assets too if they could access them at a low enough price to meet their strict ROI hurdles.
