Very Good post Punter , have shared so many of those thoughts .You are of course correct about accountability , although its so very difficult with all that marketing and glowing reports .

Im still particularly annoyed about the wine grapes , I had no idea until well after getting involved as to what was ACTUALLY happening with these projects , I never wanted Grapes! then I went to this wine tasting night , the GTP wine Guru was there , and he convinced me that this was absolutely Rock Solid ! ..Continuity of supply , was what the Big players needed I was told , and all the grapes were already sold ..So how could you miss ? Yes , there was a grape glut , but this didn't affect them at all , of course he had just completed probably his 20th public speaking course , and wore a great Suit !! ..lol
So I had to trust him ? Right ? ..what a fool I feel now .$167,000 over 2 years ( 04 / 05 ) ..At least you will get something for the timber !

I do feel for Punter with the loans ..because his trees never got planted ..What a joke! but I do find it difficult to believe that the ATO are not collecting from those not paying loans , and have no intention of reversing the deductions allowing .. I think thats just Crazy .

When did the loans actually change ? I remember originally all they did if you defaulted was keep the product ( now worthless of course ) ...

Yes , many lessons learned ..But have they really been learnt ? Time will tell .
