tanzania tattle

Today on the BBC World Service tv there was a short programme about Tanzania and a proposed East African Common Market or union. There used to be an East African Union before Idi Amin & others wrecked it. Will include Ruwanda, Congo, South Sudan possibly. One of the problems is that Kenyans are more business savvy,up to date than their country cousins in Tanzania in the deep south & the Tanzanians are resentful , nervous. They have already experienced a flood of South Africans across their southern border. Scheme happens in few months.
One can imagine the Men from the Ministry & local utilities taking measures to protect their cozy arrangements in oil & gas from any outsiders, seemingly including KEY & Aminex. It was all so different when Ted E was in Mauritania decades(?) ago.
The young Government Official who met Ted & the"man in the lime green suit"was just out of college(?) & extended every form of official cooperation to them- there was no oil in Mauritania at the time & oil only seemed a dream.( They arrived in the dusty capital with no suitable clothes & a lime green suit from the local bazaar had to be worn.I forget the name of Mauritania capital as my atlas still shows it as French West Africa.)
Perhaps Ted & Brian(?)should should get their overpaid consultant to arrange a few more late lunches with Black Label & dollybirds for the Man from the Ministry at the local Meridien. I continue to hold KEY while drama slowly unfolds.
