There are two schools of thought on the issue.

1. You are correct ........ getting the SP up before a placement is definitely "in the *companies* BEST interests".

2. Pushing the SP down before a placement is in the best interest of the inner circle (mates). Once the placement is complete then a steady stream of good news will lift the price and allow the inner circle to make lots of money with very little downside risk.

I personally dismiss the second theory but there are those that strongly believe. Each to their own.
