I posted once on UCG being a good second life for a depleted csg field, but have since come to realise that if your coal is suited to UCG you capture the roughly 5% csg energy content of a gassy coal seam in the UCG process anyway.

Lorraine coals are deep ... certainly too deep imo to consider UCG ... were you just thinking of combusting a deeper seam to induce stress relief fracturing in one or more higher coal seams for csg extraction?

If so, good lateral thinking imo but unlikely to be practical due to the depths and time involved.

What do you mean you read my posts ... you haven't been around long and I haven't posted much on EPG for 3 months or so now ... have you previously been a member of HC?
