there was an article somewhere today that google is the only entity that has the capability to topple the carsales empire. As they could do it as free listings.
I remember when they were charging $10 per regular advert on carsales. (private)
It always was a very good site setup from the beginning.
Once they had the numbers behind them it was $20, $30, $40 and now $50 for an ad.
As far as an IPO listing goes, the existing owners have done very well out of it.
