Well I dont know how anyone can say they have had a great quarter as if you look at the production summary, production is down by about 20% because of the planned outage of a customer, so this is going to impact the full year financials, and it can be seen in the quarterly cash receipts.
That said the annual cash receipts of $24m indicate sales of around this mark so should be an improvement on last year( backing out the cs receipt in 2008 of $7m, so like for like of sales 2008 of $20m.)
Agree with jake they are not burning cash. Operating cash for the year of $8m is good, indicating a good solid profit. The cash useage came from controlled investment activity.
But sorry Anne you are way off the mark here with your quote "The difference between MOS and most explorers is that MOS can fund their exploration and acquisitions out of ongoing own cash flow without constantly going to the shareholders or banks"
The point is this is exactlt MOS's problem, they are going to their shareholders for financing all the time, hence the 631,634,452 shares on issue. They issue shares to every Tom, Dick and Harry thinking it is prudent but it is stupid, short shighted, and very costly exercise. Look at Beach, that is their problem they have nearly 1Billion shares on issue. Simple economis of demand and supply.
They need an operatioanl manager with broad business experience as they need to ramp up sales, their assets are underutilsed, eg pipelines and gasfields.
They need a share consolidation, say 5 for 1 and reduce the number of shares on issue to 100m, this would give an indicative shareprice of $.67.
Rather than looking like a Mickey Mouse company at 13 cents the market may take interest at 67 cents. It would also improve their PE etc.
Thirdly they need to borrow to fund their development. This would have the advantage also of improving their return on capital.
We need to write a Strategic Plan for the new CEO, SWOT would be good.
Perhaps I will kick it off.
Cheers
