One possible expansion of Tattersalls (TTS) is the purchase of the NSW Lotteries. Tatts expects to reap economies of scale from combining it's existing Victorian Lotteries business with the NSW Lotteries.Another Tats expansion may be the purchase of the Victorian Governments Gaming business.
The NSW Labor Party wants to sell the NSW Lotteries business but it needs the support of the Shooters Party.
The Shooters Party wants their bill to allow feral amimals to be able to be shot in National Parks passed before they will agree to the sale of NSW Lotteries.
The NSW lotteries bill has passed the lower house but still needs to pass the Upper House of the NSW Parliament. The Upper House was closed unexpectedly today so no vote about the sale of NSW lotteries has yet been taken place.

Tattersalls has sufficient funds available on hand and existing facilities to be able to purchase the NSW Lotteries and Victorian Govt's Gaming business. They do not require any money from a share issue.
Tattersals has a written agreement to be compensated $600 million by the VIC Government if it looses it's Pokies licence but this will have to be fought for most likely in court.The VIC government has announced some time ago that the existing TATS pokies licence will be terminated in the future by passage of new legislation.
