I don't know it is so hot here comparing RES and RIV.
I totally agree that RIV as a good company with great pontential. I did hold it in 2008 for a long while but lost my money. It is not the problem of RIV but the market and myself.
I switched it to MCC after they were nearly the same price when market bottomed. The only reason is that MCC is a producer and less risk in Australia.
Recently I switched MCC to REY, a coal junior in West Australia, and hold a parcel of RES as well.
It depends on how much money you have and how much risk you like to take.
I always tell my wife, if I am a funding manager, I would do better in 2009, because I didn't need to sell RIV or MCC for cash to buy REY or RES.
