A very senior company source has informed me that Fosters are having major production problems. Recently the company outsourced there maintance division and as a result bought in new processes and supervisors. Rather than just fixing problems workers now have to apply to supervisors and gain writen approval. Many supervisors and the new workers have no experiance with the plant. No overtime is available so rather than completing jobs before leaving jobs are left unfinished. While they are doing repairs they are no doing any maintance and those who remained with fosters believe it is only time before a bottling plant breaks down with long tern consiquences. I am told that at the moment the production is behind in excess of 1 million cartons of beer along with 100,000s kegs. This might explain some of the weakness in the share price but the full extent of the bad news may not become available untill the years figures are released.
