Not sure the reasons why they didn't pay - maybe they just paid interest. They had $30m cash at end of 2008 and paid about $3m on the preference shares at the end of March. Maybe it was part of broader negotiations. I haven't looked their cash flow too closely but suspect it is a little choppy unless they sell forward some of the harvests.
I think we (at least i am) are too much in the dark to really evaluate what is going on and form a realistic appraisal of the future of this company. It just doesn't appear to be enough to rely on public information. Maybe its time to pick up my ball and just go home!
