    Even if unemployment doubles (which it won't) these items will still be in high demand by Aus consumers. It is this type of thinking that makes people sell this kind of stock cheap. And in a few years time, it will be the same kind of people who will pay rediculous amounts for the same stock because all they can see is up. So if you sold in the 30 cent range - thanks for the bargain!! Do you know anyone who bought Billabong in 1990, who then didn't in 1991? I don't, regardless of the recession.
