"A responsible entity should disclose a gearing ratio calculated as total liabilities (as opposed to debt only) divided by total assets, based on the scheme's latest financial statements.
If a scheme has off balance sheet financing, a responsible entity should disclose two gearing ratios, one based on liabilities disclosed in the financial statements and one that takes into account the off balance sheet financing.
A responsible entity should also explain the relevance of any loan covenants specifying a certain level of gearing."
