Takeovers can be slow and messy with no guarantee an agreement can be found on price. In a JV SFR will end up with 70% minimum. SFR takeover WRM it would cost $20M odd and then they still need to spend perhaps $30M to bring it to a investment decision. Also allows time for SFR to really assess WRM assets without commiting addition cash in the short term.
SFR seem to be spending money well to add potential new mines, also a good sign that confidence is improving in the mining sector.
