I only trade on TA - also - however the process of selection varies - Daytrading is a different gig to ST or LT - totally different criteria
I used to poke around looking into the history - usually most stocks have gone through several identities and -
the code/company has been changed - funny stuff - the last chart that I posted some weeks back which relates to this phenomenon was SPT- think it was a rto or something - the interesting part however was that the chart still respected the same old resistance levels - And ran all the way up to them at $2 -
It was part of the learning curve and I still do it to a degree -Always always look at the LT chart -
A lot of traders think that the old history is irrelevant I am a bit more inclined to think that the structure of the chart long term is a key -
I often look way back and draw the trendlines - and amazing they do break out where the history depicts -
Even though the present has no bearing fundamentally -

He is a gun at picking good stocks - maybe he would care to tell us how he found JIN and what he looks for - gambling and gaming stocks are a thing - and since we all love to punt and play games the whole sector deserves a good comb through-
I actually wish that folks would post a bit of FA and ideas in the AM- and or assess the stocks that are moving with volume FA wise - it makes the job of watching easier -
The news of course can dictate what is active - but often I have also found that the stocks that have been picked up in the price and volume scans are next weeks news also -
IF and it is a big if - we got organised we could go through the scans and do the FA on the charts that have promise - that is how I asses - generally
