Zinc battery is still long way to go. Most of factories are set up to make lithium battery for electric cars. I don't think zinc battery will ever happen. We are more likely to get hydrogen fuel cars than zinc battery cars. I think Toyota is pushing for hydrogen fuel cars.
Zinc battery is too heavy. Tesla supercharger V3 can charge 100 kW battery in about 15-20 mins and can travel over 600 km. This might kill the zinc battery. Seriously after you drive over 600 km surely you want 15-20 mins break.
