All these so called phobias are simply states of prejudice, some extreme, some less so. Some have a historical basis such as the Irish vs the British because the British inflicted genocide on the Irish Catholics in the same way that Stalin did in Ukraine.
Some of these prejudice, phobias are taught as a means of gathering a tribe and giving them a unique identity. They deliberately create disunity to create a power base, such Jehovah Witness, Mormon, etc, etc.
As for the 144,000, there is no clear understanding and it is impossible for anybody to know with certainty the true meaning or even if there is one. It would seem to be a suggestion of the magnified, symbolic power of the Second Advent of Jesus.
The first Jesus had His 12 disciples but the returned Jesus will appear with a spiritual power equal to those first 12 disciples, then given a factor increase of

2 x 1,000. I think it is a suggestion that the Message will be so profound, so much more complete that it will be incomparable to any teaching given by a messenger from God. It will be many multiples greater than any religion that has gone before.
The 12 tribes is probably a symbolic microcosm of the planet, used to suggest that disciples would come from every tribe on earth, rather than from within an ethnic group.
When living organisms die they decompose. Religions are like living organisms and when they, in a sense, die, they also decompose. It's hard to put a number on how many Christian denominations there are, but certainly it's in the many tens-of-thousands. This is decomposition. There are many sects of Islam, though not nearly as many as Christianity.
