Ive been involved in the Building game for a long time, I remember working out the maths to cut and pitch roofs using a carpenters pencil and a bit of scrap cardboard, to work out the rafter lengths etc.. I still know the 38 to 100 pitch is just x half span minus half ridge x 1.0698 = your rafter length with a 38 to 100 boat for the plumb cut.

But Now I use a Calculator because its easier than doing the long hand maths on cardboard with a carpenters pencil. And we used to have to call people only when they were home on a Pay phone, But now we have mobile phones, Geez times have changed, lucky Ive moved with the times and I can get my information faster and easier than I used to.
