Expats and young people are hoping for change too - probably because they don't like the increased oppression, censure, authoritarianism. As avid social media users (the young people especially), they are less influenced by government and military propaganda and can make up their own minds, while the older people spent a lifetime having the propaganda ingrained in them since birth.

It's the older people in Thailand who don't seem to mind dictatorship so much, which I find hard to understand. Maybe since some of them are so strongly against Thaksin. Why? Maybe since there were rumors that Thaksin was opposed to the monarchy, though just yesterday, the princess (ex-candidate for PM) was photographed prominently at the wedding of Thaksin's daughter. Or that the red shirt burned some buildings in Bangkok, though the yellow shirts have blockaded Bangkok and the airport and shot people too. Or that he did some transactions that people considered corrupt, but that's no different than any other politician in Thailand.

1 day until the mess continues, since it certainly isn't over.
