2.2.7.4 Gas Supply

A gas pipeline is proposed to be extended from the existing regional gas pipeline to the Project. The gas pipeline route is yet to be determined and will be built within a Petroleum Pipeline Licence. The pipeline owned and operated by third party, who will seek all relevant approvals. The gas pipeline is not part of this referral. 2


2.3.6 Power Supply

Four supply options were considered for the power and heat load respectively as follows: Power load supply alternatives • Diesel; • Gas Pipeline; • LNG; and • Compressed Natural Gas.

Heat load supply alternatives are summarised as follows: • Fuel oil; • Gas pipeline; • LNG; and • Compressed Natural Gas.

The total demand of both the processing and heating load will be supplied by natural gas via an overland pipeline. The supplier and route are yet to be determined. If the pipeline interconnection with the processing plant cannot be completed in a timeframe aligned with the commencement of the operations, an interim fuel supply involving trucked compressed natural gas (CNG) will be implemented (Wave International, 2018). The power supply generation is based on an islanded gas turbine or generator powered plant, that supplies the processing plant and the accommodation village having emergency power provided by an independent gas or diesel-powered generation plant. The plant power station is located adjacent to the processing facility and is connected to the gas infrastructure.
