NZ_Bans All Automatic guns, page-28

I had a discussion with someone yesterday (a city person) & explained that we have firearms because we have a farm & livestock / horses to which that person responded 'No one should have guns but the police'. I challenged this person on this remark & explained that a few months back i had to put down a horse which was very sick and suffering. Getting a vet out was not practical due to distance, time & cost & it would have prolonged the animals suffering. I then asked this individual how i should have dealt with that situation without a gun.
This person then suggested i should have just used a hammer or a knife instead.

WTF!!!!!!!!!?!!?

Firstly you would be prosecuted for animal cruelty & secondly a 600Kg animal would likely kill you first if you attacked it. I still cant believe how stupid some people actually are.
