One I know has already made arrangements for a four day weekend to go on a trip with his family (wife also is a "public servant"). They will take their government supplied car, filled with fuel on their work debit card. My neighbour who is a carpet layer tells me he will be working on Saturday that week to catch up for having Anzac day off.
It's no joke so it really isn't humour. But it is a joke so the humour forum may be the right place. But one question for Stephen " your post was made at 15.57 on a working day. Was it done in the bosses time, at work and on the work computer?"

I cannot comment on public sector since I've never worked there but from what I hear career progression is much harder and they don't pay as well so maybe the flexie day and a government car with fuel is a way to compensate.
