I prefer the Championship, and not just because my team is in it. The difference in quality between the EPL and the Championship is huge, but the Championship feels like a genuine competition ... anyone can beat anyone and there are no easy matches.
The EPL is divided into three - the Big Six (you have to include Spurs these days), those fighting relegation and the ones in the middle and it has this almost artificial feeling about it.
But for all that I do like watching it.
Have to disagree on the SPL though
This season is slightly more open, but Celtic have been miles ahead of the rest for years but are shown up as mediocre in Europe every season.
IMO, they would struggle to finish mid-table in the Championship.
But I agree you don't necessarily have to watch the elite to enjoy the sport.
