Volume or lack of....., page-2

I think too many assume too much with the bot trades. From what I have heard and read, the big majority of bots are pure trading tools that work off algorithms and do not trade on fundamentals but rather follow trends and will buy or sell a big range of stocks across many markets and often the buying or selling is based on short term international news flow where the algorithm attempts to trade on news within milliseconds- I.e. before humans can trade based on the news. We don’t see any big amounts of bot trades here and it seems to me that that might be due to the low volumes here at the moment. I’d guess that part of the algorithm would look at volume to determine whether or not to trade a stock and if so, how much to trade it.
