Previously they could have been delaying to see if they can run through KCN's cash, so KCN goes into admin and the TAFTA claim may cease to exist. That would have been preferable for the junta - no loss of face from a settlement or TAFTA loss, or even ongoing news of the trial happening and potential costs to the country (from Prayuth's S44 decision).
Now that KCN is unlikely to have cash problems any time soon, they'll have to consider their true chances of winning and choose from the remaining options they have: settle or fight in court to the end. Neither are great options for them, but that's the reality now.
