Well, if one thing can say the difference between life in America and how their coppers handle things and how life in New Zealand is and how their coppers handle things - it's the pursuit and arrest of Brenton Tarrant

In America - we have seen it time and time again - pursuit by lights sirens, multiple cars -- guns drawn, many shots fired, lots of aggression, cars banged up everywhere  - the whole Hollywood deal

New Zealand -- 2 rural coppers -- one handgun, one car with a dent in the front quarter

Calmly thinking through working by themselves where this bloke might go - and, they pick it right -

they think through what's best -- pursue or not? - carefully, but, quickly weighing the risks -- weighing the risks to the community -

they decide to go for it - disable the car by ramming after they have confirmed the right car -

bang -- then, even though they then see a bomb in the car - they get the bloke and arrest him - game over

    not a shot fired

pretty much their only concern after ---------- they dented another police car ---???????? the second in a week - buggah!

    how understated is that

absolutely no contest - it's why I would travel to NZ any day and enjoy the place - whereas you wouldn't get me into America if you gave me a free apartment in NY and a first class ticket

    well done guys
