There’s a couple of very big H2 projects on the cards in the UK. The biggest, H21, would make H2 from Norwegian natural gas using SMR/ATR+CCS. Phase 1 is to convert 3.7 million homes to H2 in the North of England from 2028. The £250 million FEED study is up for approval this year. Curious to see if it happens after a few white elephant project flops plus general Brexit chaos.
Relevant for us is that they ran a competition last year looking for better alternatives to SMR+CCS. I wrote and told them about Hazer, and a CCS engineer responded that it looked interesting and he’d follow its progress. Getting a real response from an expert is extremely rare, so I think it made an impression.
