Jesus, as described in the NT, does not relate to the descriptions of the prophesied Messiah as described in the OT, which is why the claim was rejected by Orthodox Judaism.

DBT, Orthodox Judaism, had little regard for the OT writings. For instance, one of the most prominent divisions of Judaism, that of the Sadducees, rejected the Scriptural teaching of the resurrection and denied the existence of angels. (Mark 12:18-27; Acts 23:8) This automatically led to their rejecting OT teachings that the Messiah was to die at the hands of his own people. You can find these prophecies at Isaiah 42:1-7; 49:1-12; 50:4-9; and 52:13–53:12.
It took faith and humility that many of the Jewish hierarchy of the time were incapable of. It was more often those that were looked down upon that had the courage to become his disciples. It is still the same today!
(John 9:22) His parents said these things because they were in fear of the Jews, for the Jews had already come to an agreement that if anyone acknowledged him as Christ, that person should be expelled from the synagogue.
(John 12:42) All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but they would not acknowledge him because of the Pharisees, so that they would not be expelled from the synagogue;
