ASIC reports daily open short positions.

ASX reports daily gross new shorts.

Recently highest open shorts on 5/3/2019: 35.5m
gross new shorts on 6/3/2019: 3.5m, but end of day open shorts actually reduced to 35.2m
similarly happened to 7/3/19, gross daily new shorts: 1.7m, end of day open shorts reduced to 35.1m

I expect gross new shorts to reduce from this Friday as share buyback starts.

It all depends how much they buy we will probably find out friday night or monday morning if it is a bigger number then that will freak the shorters out .
