my understanding, (and this must be taken strictly as my opinion).
A funding arrangement was in advanced discussions with huayou - this aligns with Nigel's comments at the AGM that funding would be secured and not by a standard CR
The above broke down/cancelled/reneged etc - I have no information (or opinion) on this.
AVZ needed to initiate a short term funding solution. Huayou at some point, (unaware if this was before or after the SPP was decided) offered/discussed to participate at a level above the current S/P at the time (mid 6's). (cannot prove whether it was formal or not. if it was formal then it's categorically got to be declared so I'm presuming it was informal)
I presume the figure was at the lowest possible amount to ensure they could take a stake and get the s/p to the 10c mark for options execution. but that last sentence is pure speculation. despite my mistakes earlier on the $$$ of this ( thanks @binwood for the correction.) that strategy would still make sense.
so to surmise, my opinion is that dossantd's comments align with what I was informed. i do not have sources which can be cited as per HC terms and conditions.
