The used car salesmen personality types come out of the woodwork to let tyres down in a self serving attempt to feel relevant and loved, and my experience is that they do this when things are looking up. It's basically running others down to make themselves feel and look good, but they don't quite get it that they don't end up looking good. Pay them no heed.
