Below information is an assumption and theory.

The latest annoucement states that the brine is expected to be further down and the geological setting is a Horst-garben.

Example:

. The sections that have not dropped are the Horst and the Garben is the block that dropped.

For simplicity lets say hole 1 is on the left horst and the orange layer is the brine.
.
Prior to knowing the geological setting the tech team assumed the orange layer would contiune flat. But as you can see due to the garben block dropping it is further down. Hence why I said still confident they will hit brine... This is why the tech team is also continuing to drill.
