Anti-semitism on the rise in Europe, page-40

    Hi Trumper,
I don't like the term "antisemitism" so I have trouble with rules and regulations that are based around the term.

The spelling of the term "antisemitism" infers racial discrimination (to do with semites) although I reckon genes would have been diluted over the years so the term is misleading anyway. IMO Jews are bonded by strict culture and religion but even that has some variation across the world, and especially in Israel which is demonstrated in the video I posted earlier.
I would prefer a term that infers religious discrimination, but the term should only apply to criticism of Jews in general.

I see criticism of Israel as criticising Israeli government policy, within Israel and globally, rather than racial or religious prejudice, and such discussion should be allowed.

As for delegitimization of Israel, I assume that means should Israel exist where it is today. There's a lot of history to be discussed on that one and I don't have a strong opinion except to repeat what I said in a previous post - it's causing a lot of trouble for Israel and surrounding countries. It's a pity all that couldn't have been avoided but we're stuck with it for a while.

Then there's AIPAC, the degree of it's influence on US foreign policy, and it's relationship with Israel's foreign policy, but that's another issue.
