The problems with Atacama go deeper than just the water. Yes it is the driest desert on earth and this will continue to cause problems for all lithium producers. But the place is rife with stakeholder meddling and interference from all levels of government and landholders. The highest lithium royalties on the planet - yes higher than Argentina, the Democratic Republic of Congo and even Western Australia. Then there's the opaque Chile / China relationship and Chilean President Sebastian Pinera's involvement in this. The Peruvian Tern and environmental permitting and the difficulties and lengthy delays in having brownfield developments approved by the Chilean environment agency are added layers of problems with Atacama. It might all come good for you micky and I hope it does but I'd rather be elsewhere.
