I'd like to know why people think they are entitled to a discount on the tax on profits, just because they've held it for over 12 months. A return to indexation would (in my mind) help persuade a longer term vision when investing - rather than focusing on the short-term.
Middle class welfare in its current state. When the Howard Government introduced this and other "initiatives", they were necessary for the time but right now we need to start paying back for the good of the Country. If/when Labor gets in, they'll waste it but that's Politics.....
