They wouldn't have gone into a Trading Pause/Trading Halt over average or negative news.  They would have just kept drilling the hole. Why would you go into a trading halt to say something didn't happen (until after it didn't happen - if that makes sense).

So, firstly - I am sure it is good news.

The fact they have had to extend the halt simply means they need more time to compile and present the results - and these may be a combination of the lab testing on Hole 1, plus the Hole 2 progress and initial results.  This is quite a bit of work involved and the wording needs to be spot on for obvious reasons. Isn't JP about to present at an overseas conference as well?  

One last thing - if they didn't hit anything, it wouldn't take much time to compile the results would it? They wouldn't need or take 3-4 days to get negative news out.
