    The consolidation in the gold mining sector, is exploding now with Barrick's hostile bid for Newmont.

    What is behind this?

    Simple...there are fewer large gold finds. None, really. That means boosting reserves through acquisition. This is the only way these big miners can grow.

    It points to much higher gold prices. At least $1400/oz.
